Dyslexia & Literacy Screening

Our dyslexia and literacy screening services are designed to help families better understand a learner's literacy profile, including their strengths, areas of difficulty and the most appropriate next steps.

Dyslexia and literacy screening provides valuable information about how a learner is processing literacy skills and helps identify where further support may be beneficial. Screening is available for children and young people up to the age of 18, either online or face-to-face in Sutton and the surrounding areas.

The areas explored are individually tailored to each learner and may include:

Following the screening, you will receive clear feedback on the findings, along with practical recommendations for the most appropriate next steps.

Depending on the screening option selected, this may include a written report that can be shared with school and used to help inform future support or specialist teaching.

Screening Options

Dyslexia Screener — £70

A focused screening using the Tests of Dyslexia – Screener (TOD-S) to explore potential indicators associated with dyslexia.

Includes:

  • Screening administered by a qualified specialist dyslexia teacher

  • Interpretation of the results

  • Feedback and recommendations for next steps

Comprehensive Dyslexia & Literacy Screening — £170

A more detailed, individually tailored screening to build a broader picture of the learner's literacy profile, strengths and areas of difficulty.

Includes:

  • Individually selected screening activities

  • Analysis and interpretation of findings

  • A detailed written report

  • Personalised recommendations for home and school

  • Advice about appropriate next steps

Is screening the same as a dyslexia diagnosis?

No. Dyslexia screening is not a diagnostic assessment. It can identify indicators associated with dyslexia and provide useful information about a learner's literacy profile and support needs.

If further diagnostic assessment may be appropriate, this will be discussed with you as part of the recommendations.
